If you had asked me a year ago if I would ever have pets, I would have said, well, maybe when I have kids and they insist a lot, pets are a pain to have, you have to clean after them, and put their food out and at the end you just work for them with not so much in return. Have things changed since then! Last January my husband insisted on getting a cat, we had many discussions about it, timing, money, responsibilities and so on, and he still wanted a cat and I really didn’t; finally my mom convinced me of getting a pet after listening to her argument for not having pets. So we set off to the Cat Lady’s house to look at the cats that she had for adoption and pick one of them. We stepped into the house where 27 cats and 2 people lived and there we met Gigi and Poppet, mother and kitten, she was about a year old with beautiful orange hair and very, very shy but with grace and poise, even though I couldn’t get near her I fell in love. Poppet a 3 month old kitten adventurous and curios and very playful, he came close to us playing with everything and choose me even jumping into my arms while I freaked out and didn’t even know how to hold him. The Cat Lady didn’t want them to be in separate homes, so she gave us an earful of why they shouldn’t be separated and why it was better to get 2 cats instead of just one. We left talking about the cats, in our hearts we both had decided to get them both. So 2 weeks later we brought them home the cats that we would call Ginger Alberta and Tiger Manotas. Now a days I can’t imagine my life without them feeling their love, how they run to the door when I get home, them purring just to be near, it’s so great. Ginger is the queen of the place, still shy but really sweet, loving and still with that poise, Tiger as adventurous and curious as usual but very affectionate. When Labor Day came by, we went to our usual pet store where they have a Humane Society office and we fell in love with 2 little kitties Silky and Tony. She has the softest hair and is such a pretty little brat that demands attention but very tender, she came out to be more adventurous and curios than Tiger, which is a lot, instead Tony is very calm sleeping most of the time and he was just a fluffy little hair ball so cute! a total heart breaker he would fall asleep anywhere and everywhere and whenever but when he is awake he is super playful and tender demanding attention too so Silky doesn’t hog it all up. So they came to become part of this family, and all 4 of them have their spot in my heart as they are unique and beautiful cats.
